Meet Ilaria

At Viola we aim to tackle issues of gender violence with efficient responses and solutions and to create safe spaces for people across Europe. We have assembled a highly skilled and educated group of people to help solve these issues. Meet Ilaria from our team who is working towards a safer society.

Ilaria Saliva, our COO, has been a lifelong resident of Rome, where she has diligently pursued her passion for psychology. Through her determination, she obtained a master’s degree in clinical and forensic psychodiagnostics. After witnessing the impact of the DONNEXSTRADA project, Ilaria was deeply moved by its empowering nature and the genuine sense of helping those in need. It was this experience that inspired her to commit her time and expertise to developing the Viola service and application.

“I have the ability to shape the future of this service, to direct its path, and to connect with compassionate individuals who possess an incredible drive to help.”

Ilaria firmly believes that she can help create change. She recognizes that the knowledge of Viola’s presence instills courage in people, influencing their behavior and granting them a sense of freedom. What sets Viola apart from its competitors, according to Ilaria, is its volunteers—individuals who radiate a sense of safety simply by existing.

Before joining Viola, Ilaria engaged in an internship aimed at assisting women who have suffered from domestic violence. Her work involved helping them secure employment and regain their sense of individualism. Throughout this experience, she gained insights into domestic violence and violence against women, emphasizing the importance of supporting this cause.

Looking ahead, Ilaria envisions Viola as a tangible, genuine safe space for women. She hopes that Viola will not only be a service for accompanying individuals, but also become a trusted community where people can seek assistance for any reason. Above all, her vision for Viola is to establish it as one of the most inclusive organizations, where everyone can find a safe place.
